The essential functions of this position include:
Receives emergency and non-emergency calls and efficiently gathers, evaluates, prioritizes, and documents information from callers; properly classifies and prioritizes any report or complaint information and determines appropriate course of action.
Dispatches multiple emergency services and maintains the status of incidents and record of dispatched emergency service personnel and apparatus.
Receives and disseminates information from other law enforcement and emergency service computer networks related to jurisdictional requests for police, fire or medical service assistance, or to notices of wanted persons, stolen property, warrants and all points bulletins.
Operates Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) system for operational/officer-safety-related needs.

Nature of Work: Dispatchers work under unpredictable periods of stress caused by the volume of calls and/or emergency conditions in the field involving the protection of life and property. Persons employed in this class must work shift assignments, which includes around-the-clock, weekend, and holiday work schedules. Employees are subject to changes in shift assignments. Due to the emergency nature of this work, mandatory overtime is required.
How to qualify
1. Education: Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D. or High School Proficiency Examination); AND
2. Experience: One (1) year of verifiable experience as a public safety (police/fire) dispatcher in a multi-frequency computerized dispatch/communications center.
Experience Substitution: Completion of a 12-month program equivalent to the City and County of San Francisco’s Airport Communications Dispatcher Trainee Program may substitute for the one (1) year of required work experience.

Under administrative direction, administers FAA regulations, develops and manages programs related to facility planning, capital improvement projects, federal grant management, environmental planning, security requirements and noise abatement; coordinates assigned activities with other divisions, departments, and outside agencies; and provides highly responsible and complex administrative support to the Director.
The current vacancy exists in the Airports Department located at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT). This is an unclassified position in which the incumbent serves at the will of the Department Director.

LONG-TERM DISABILITY: Benefit equal to 66.66% of monthly salary up to $7,500 per month after 30 days of disability; premium paid by The City.

DROP (Deferred Retirement Option Program): an optional, voluntary program that allows an employee to deposit retirement benefits in a special savings account within the Retirement System while continuing to work for the City of Fresno for up to 10 years. Participation minimum is age 50 and vested. Benefits includes ownership of accumulated funds, compound interest earnings, and alternative distribution options.

The Requirements
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications on or before the posted filing deadline in order to qualify for further consideration:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in business administration, urban planning, architecture, engineering, construction management, economics, or a related field.
AND
Four years of responsible supervisory experience in administering on and off airport capital improvement programs, FAA regulations, design and construction administration. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis, up to a maximum of two years.
Licensed as an Architect or Registration as a Professional Engineer by the State of California is preferred.

Additional Requirements

The County of Orange is seeking a Planning & Development Deputy Airport Director for John Wayne Airport. Reporting to the Airport Director, this executive will lead the newly restructured Planning and Development Division, advancing a $700 million Capital Improvement Program (CIP) that shapes the airport’s future. The Deputy Airport Director will oversee up to 28 staff and guide high-impact initiatives that strengthen airside, landside, and terminal operations while ensuring alignment with the Airport Layout Plan and long-term master planning goals.
This leader will direct strategic capital planning, engineering, design, environmental compliance, land use planning and construction functions. Position Qualifications

• Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or Architect license would be a preferred, but not essential.
• Deep knowledge of FAA grant programs, environmental regulations, and capital project best practices.

THE POSITION:
This is a division head management position at the Hayward Executive Airport, reporting to the Airport Manager. The incumbent is responsible for the management of the business and accounting functions at the airport and provides second-line supervision and direction of staff within the Airport Division.
