Nominating Committee Seeks Interested AAAE Candidates

The Southwest Chapter of AAAE (SWAAAE) is seeking interested members to serve AAAE and the Chapter in different positions as follows:

1. Regional Director representing the Southwest Chapter on the AAAE Board of Directors (two-year term to begin at the conclusion of the AAAE Annual Conference, currently scheduled in Atlanta, GA for June 8-10, 2025)
2. AAAE Nominating Committee representative for the Southwest Chapter (one-year term to begin at the conclusion of the AAAE Annual Conference, currently scheduled in Atlanta, GA for June 8-10, 2025)
3. Secretary/Treasurer (six-year term to complete the AAAE chairs, to begin at the conclusion of the Annual Conference, currently scheduled in Atlanta, GA for June 8-10, 2025)

The Chapter election for the AAAE Regional Director position will be held on Monday, February 3, 2025, in conjunction with SWAAAE's 65th Annual Airport Management Short Course. The SWAAAE Board of Directors will elect the AAAE Nominating Committee representative during the Board meeting scheduled on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Monterey Marriott in Monterey, CA. The requirements for each position are outlined below.

Nominees for all positions should:

• Be an active A.A.E., employed in full-time public airport management;
• Be a current Chapter member with at least one (1) year prior membership with SWAAAE and/or AAAE and/or another AAAE Regional Chapter;
• Be well-respected in the industry;
• Have regional Chapter leadership experience and be actively involved in the Chapter (or be deemed as eligible by the Chapter Nominating Committee);
• Possess established organizational leadership competencies in airport/aviation management or outside industries;
• Have demonstrated the following:
  - Strategic thinking and decision-making proficiencies;
  - Industry knowledge, involvement, and experience;
  - Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
  - Desirable leadership traits;
  - Integrity, disciplined, and focused attitude/behaviors

Additional requirements:

AAAE Board Regional Director
No additional requirements.

AAAE Nominating Committee Representative
Nominees are required to have served on the Chapter Board of Directors for not less than one (1) year. Additionally, no one nominated for a National Director position or AAAE Secretary/Treasurer may serve on the Nominating Committee. Regional Directors may still serve on the Nominating Committee.

AAAE Secretary/Treasurer
Nominees are required to have completed at least one full term (two years minimum) as a member of the AAAE Board of Directors and have the support of their airport for the time and travel requirements to attend the three annual AAAE Board of Directors meetings.

If you are interested in any of these positions, please submit the following to Cathy Herring, SWAAAE Executive Director, by the end of the business day Friday, January 10, 2025. Include the following in your submittal:

1. Resume - no more than two pages;
2. A written statement, on airport letterhead, from the nominated individual acknowledging the nomination; and,
3. A written statement from the individual's airport supporting the nomination and the travel requirements.
